Bachelor's or Master's students (not PhD) in physics, engineering, computer science, or mathematics, who have completed at least 6 full-time semesters. Applicants of all nationalities may apply (US, Canadian and Japanese citizens use a separate national portal). Must not have previously participated in the CERN summer programme.
Create an online profile at careers.cern/summer and apply with a CV (in English or French), an academic recommendation, and official transcripts. Shortlisted candidates are invited to an online interview.

Royal Society (UK)
Under the Global round: up to £3,000 for a single visit (up to 3 months), up to £6,000 for multiple visits within one year, and up to £12,000 in total over two years. Under the Cost-Share round, the Royal Society provides up to £12,000, matched by an equal contribution from an overseas partner organisation (e.g. Italy's CNR, Japan's JSPS, China's NSFC, or Taiwan's NSTC).
German Academic Exchange Service
Doctoral candidates and early-career postdocs receive a stipend of approximately €1,200–1,400 per month, along with health/accident insurance and a travel grant; the exact rate is updated annually.

A monthly stipend, international and domestic travel costs, health insurance, and research/program allowances are covered by the U.S. Department of State; the exact amount depends on the field and duration of the grant (the official page does not publish a specific figure).
