TWAS + UNESCO
TWAS covers travel costs to the host centre of excellence and provides a monthly allowance of USD 300 for local living expenses; the host centre covers accommodation, meals and research infrastructure. Associateship status is granted for a 3-year term, during which the associate may visit the centre twice (2-3 months each visit); the term may be renewed for a further 3-year period if funds permit.
Open to researchers holding a PhD or equivalent degree who are nationals of developing (Southern) countries and are employed at a research institution. There is no age limit. Uzbekistan, as a developing country, is fully eligible. Special consideration is given to researchers from scientifically isolated institutions and to women scientists.
