Heinrich Böll Foundation (Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung)
Master's students receive a stipend of up to EUR 992 per month (based on the maximum BAföG rate, income-dependent), and international PhD candidates EUR 1,650 per month; all recipients also get an additional EUR 300/month book and study allowance, health insurance, and (if applicable) a family allowance.
Uzbekistan is on the OECD DAC list of developing countries, so Uzbek applicants belong to the priority group the Böll Foundation targets. Candidates must have completed their first degree outside Germany, demonstrate commitment to green/democratic values, and have German language skills at B2 level.

Periodic
There are two application windows per year: fall (15 July to 1 September) and spring (15 January to 1 March) — e.g., the fall 2026 window runs 15 July to 1 September 2026.
U.S. Department of State
Full scholarship: tuition, monthly living stipend, international and domestic airfare, and J-1 Exchange Visitor health insurance. The program enables recipients to earn a Master's degree in the U.S. or conduct research under the Open Study/Research Award.
Turkish Government (YTB)
Full funding: tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend (approximately TRY 4,500 for Bachelor's, TRY 6,500 for Master's, TRY 9,000 for PhD students), health insurance, a one-year Turkish-language course, and round-trip airfare.
UK Government (FCDO)
Full scholarship: university tuition fees, a monthly living allowance (rate varies by city), return flights to and from the UK, visa costs, and additional grants (e.g. for research). Available only for one-year master's programmes.
