International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
Travel costs, a living stipend, and training/upskilling courses are covered during the fellowship; the exact amount depends on the project and host country, and no overall figure is published on the official page.
As an IAEA member state (within the Europe region), Uzbekistan is fully entitled to participate in the Technical Cooperation Programme. Candidates are not nominated individually but officially through the government (the National Liaison Officer); selection is based on the candidate's qualifications, the country's needs, and language proficiency.
Uzbekistan citizens only
Applications are not submitted directly to the IAEA but through the relevant Uzbekistan state institution (the National Liaison Officer); once approved, the application is entered into the IAEA's Intouch+ electronic portal.
Rolling deadline
There is no single fixed deadline — nominations are submitted year-round via the IAEA's Intouch+ portal as part of government projects; specific deadlines are announced by the relevant Uzbekistan national authority (e.g., the Atomic Energy Agency).
TWAS + UNESCO
TWAS covers travel costs to the host centre of excellence and provides a monthly allowance of USD 300 for local living expenses; the host centre covers accommodation, meals and research infrastructure. Associateship status is granted for a 3-year term, during which the associate may visit the centre twice (2-3 months each visit); the term may be renewed for a further 3-year period if funds permit.
OeAD — Austria's Agency for Education and Internationalisation
The grant provides a stipend of EUR 1,300 per month during the research stay in Austria, plus assistance with accommodation and health insurance. Grant duration ranges from 1 to 9 months and cannot be extended.
European Commission
The total budget of a consortium project can range from several hundred thousand to several million euros. Under the Widening Participation instruments (Teaming, Twinning, ERA Chairs), a partner organisation may receive over €100,000; the exact amount depends on the terms of the specific call.
