State Education Development Agency (VIAA)
Bachelor's and Master's students receive EUR 500/month (up to 10 months), PhD students EUR 670/month (up to 11 months); insurance costs are the scholarship holder's own responsibility, and the scholarship cannot be combined with other grants.
Uzbekistan is explicitly listed on VIAA's official page among the 40+ countries that have signed a cooperation agreement in education and science with Latvia. Bachelor's applicants must have completed at least 1 academic year at any HEI; Master's and PhD applicants from any prior HEI are eligible; academic/scientific staff may also apply.
Uzbekistan citizens only
Candidates register in the scholarships.viaa.gov.lv electronic system, submit only one application per call, and upload the required documents (proof of study, academic transcript, etc.).
Annual
A new call is announced annually; for the 2026/2027 academic year the online application system is open from 1 February to 1 April 2026.
U.S. Department of State
Full scholarship: tuition, monthly living stipend, international and domestic airfare, and J-1 Exchange Visitor health insurance. The program enables recipients to earn a Master's degree in the U.S. or conduct research under the Open Study/Research Award.
Turkish Government (YTB)
Full funding: tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend (approximately TRY 4,500 for Bachelor's, TRY 6,500 for Master's, TRY 9,000 for PhD students), health insurance, a one-year Turkish-language course, and round-trip airfare.
UK Government (FCDO)
Full scholarship: university tuition fees, a monthly living allowance (rate varies by city), return flights to and from the UK, visa costs, and additional grants (e.g. for research). Available only for one-year master's programmes.
