Swiss Confederation (SBFI)
CHF 2,450 per month (the updated amount for the 2027-2028 cycle — a 27% increase from the previous CHF 1,920) + a one-time CHF 600 settling-in allowance paid with the first instalment + tuition waiver + health insurance + a Half-Fare Travelcard for public transport.
Open to citizens of more than 180 countries. The 2027-2028 cycle is now focused mainly on PhD-level researchers — starting with the 2027/2028 academic year, the postdoctoral scholarship track has been discontinued. Applicants must hold a Master's degree (completed by 31 July 2027, or 30 June 2027 for ETH Zurich) and be no older than 35 at the time of application (born after 31 December 1991); researchers with a Master's degree in the arts may also apply. Whether Uzbekistan is listed and the country-specific terms will be officially announced in August 2026 — Uzbek citizens have successfully applied in previous years.

From 20 August 2026, apply directly via the go.eskas.ch online portal (no longer through the Swiss Embassy in Tashkent). The application must include a letter of consent from a receiving academic supervisor in Switzerland.

Applications for the 2027-2028 cycle open on 20 August 2026. IMPORTANT: starting with the 2026-2027 cycle, applications are no longer submitted through the Swiss Embassy but directly via the new online portal go.eskas.ch. Country-specific deadlines will be published in August 2026.
U.S. Department of State
Full scholarship: tuition, monthly living stipend, international and domestic airfare, and J-1 Exchange Visitor health insurance. The program enables recipients to earn a Master's degree in the U.S. or conduct research under the Open Study/Research Award.
Turkish Government (YTB)
Full funding: tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend (approximately TRY 4,500 for Bachelor's, TRY 6,500 for Master's, TRY 9,000 for PhD students), health insurance, a one-year Turkish-language course, and round-trip airfare.
UK Government (FCDO)
Full scholarship: university tuition fees, a monthly living allowance (rate varies by city), return flights to and from the UK, visa costs, and additional grants (e.g. for research). Available only for one-year master's programmes.
