Regression

Poisson regression

Models a count outcome on one or more predictors and reports rate ratios.

Variables

  • Count dependent variableContinuous — 1

What it reports

B, standard error, Wald z and p for each predictor; RR with a 95% CI; model χ², McFadden R² and the dispersion statistic.

When does this apply?

For a design in which the outcome is a count of events — a non-negative integer — modelled on one or more quantitative predictors. The output is the model’s χ², degrees of freedom and p, and per predictor B, its standard error, the Wald z, p, and the rate ratio with a 95% confidence interval. The dispersion statistic φ is reported in the table but does not change the model. There is no exposure (person-time) offset here: the model describes counts, not rates.
