How do you merge several PDF files into one?
Upload the files, put them in the order you want, and get one PDF. Pages are not redrawn — text, tables and images stay as they were. The merge runs inside your browser, so nothing reaches a server. The tool edits nothing inside the document: no heading, no running header, no page number, because those belong to other tools.
What merging does not change
- It adds no page numbers and does not renumber ones already printed on the pages.
- It does not reduce file size — the result is close to the sum of the parts.
- It does not rebuild the table of contents or internal links.
Worked example: a 10-page and a 3-page file
Two documents were used for the test: one of 10 pages and one of 3. The tool merged them in that order and produced a single PDF of 13 pages — reading the finished file back also gave 13. The first 10 pages belong to the first document and the last 3 to the second: the order equals the sequence in which you uploaded the files, with no sorting by name or date.
Assembling a dissertation and its avtoreferat
A dissertation is almost never written as one file: the introduction, chapters, conclusion and bibliography accumulate as separate documents, while the appendices are usually scans of implementation acts and certificates. The copy handed to the academic council secretary must be a single PDF, and so must the avtoreferat. Pulling the chapters together through Word at that point breaks the layout: table widths shift, formulas move, and a scanned appendix simply refuses to sit in place. Merging does not redraw a page — it copies page objects — so every chapter stays exactly as it was prepared. Put appendices last: introduction, chapters, conclusion, references and appendices is the order a reviewer expects.
Questions about merging PDFs
How many files can be merged?
There is no separate limit on the number of files, but each file has a size ceiling, and it is higher on a computer than on a phone. If the combined page count goes above 500, the tool refuses before it starts. That protects browser memory and is more honest than a document that breaks off halfway.
How do I change the order of the files?
Build the list in the order you need before running it: the tool performs no automatic sorting and never looks at file names. If the order comes out wrong, remove a file and add it again, or pass the finished result to the Reorder pages tool.
Can scans and files exported from Word be mixed?
Yes. A scanned page is kept as an image and a Word page as text, and both are copied unchanged. Part of the document will therefore be searchable and part will not — which is expected, because the source files were the same way.
Are my files sent to a server?
No. Merging happens inside your browser, the document never leaves it and we do not store it. Signing in is needed only to download the finished result — for the download action itself, not for the file.
