When does this apply?

For a design in which one group is measured twice — before and after an intervention, say. The two measurements sit in two separate columns: one row is one observation. The test is computed on the differences; the output is t, the degrees of freedom, p, and Hedges g with a 95% confidence interval. The rank-based alternative is the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.
